NEURODEVELOPMENTAL
LEARNING LAB

To support our Neurodevelopmental Learning Lab NPC-QIC is setting the expectation that all member care centers implement neurodevelopmental screening for infants in the collaborative starting post-operation from Stage 2 palliation surgery (Glenn) until 12 months of age (at 6, 9, and 12 months of age), using a standardized screening tool, the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3). It is our goal that universal developmental screening starting early in infancy, prior to the first formal neurodevelopmental evaluation at 9-12 months of age recommended by the AHA/ AAP’s joint scientific statement (Marino BS et al., Circulation, 2012), will empower and engage parents to support their babies’ development and access early intervention services and therapies as soon as they are indicated. To support this effort NPC-QIC has partnered and contracted with Ages & Stages parent company Brookes Publishing who consequently offer the ASQ screening tools to all NPC-QICs care centers.
